Project 8
1. I tried to master direction of where I want my audience to look. I struggled with getting the right angle.
2. I didn't draw inspiration from other artists, I just knew that I wanted to have a piece that shows growth and an interpretation of growth for me is height. So, I took the picture at an angle that makes it look like she is growing toward the sky.
3. I wanted to get a picture that didn't show the ground so I took it at an angle that would give off the effect that she is flying. I wanted her to face the other way so that the audience would focus on the direction her body is going. And I wanted her arm in the air so that the audience would look up in the sky.
4. I would consider moving the subject a little to the left or right just so she isn't in the middle.
5. This piece links to my other pieces because it shows growth. Her raising he arm in the sky directing the attention upward portrays that she is growing towards the sky.

Project 7
1. I tried to master the art of a 3 dimensional piece using wire, I struggled with trying to make each wire look different yet cohesive.
2. I didn't draw inspiration from a specific artist but I looked at pictures of long hair and tried to mimic that shape in a way.
3. I just took three different wires and started twisting them up and putting them together until I thought that the piece was finished. Then, I screwed it onto a piece of wood so that the piece could hang vertically to make the wire look like its popping out of the wall.
4. I would consider adding more colored wire to the piece and maybe adding a few more wires to the piece to fill in larger gaps.
5. This piece links to my other pieces because it shows growth. I took the theme of growth a bit more literally and tried to make it more abstract. I balled the wire into one spot, the source, and twisted the wire to make it look like there is movement.

Project 6
1. I tried to master photoshop, by collaging four photos on top of each other and adding a blur in the background. This was a struggle for me because I don't really know a lot about photo shop so I needed help from a classmate and a video.
2. I drew inspiration from a show that I saw, I don't remember the name of it, but there was a scene where a character transformed from one thing to another and the goal was to create that same effect.
3. First, I took all of the pictures of Brittney, next, I collaged them together, then I added the blur to the background to give the effect of movement, and finally I turned the picture black and white.
4. I would consider adding more of a blur around Brittney's body just to emphasize the effect of movement.
5. This piece connects with my other pieces because it shows growth. My theme is growth and in this particular piece, I focused on physical growth.

Project 5: No Experience Needed
1. I think I mastered the technique of blending colors in with chalk pastels. I struggles with making the color look solid on the paper.
2. I looked up photographs of caterpillars, cocoons, and butterflies and took inspiration from those. I tried to copy the image.
3. I did the branch first, then the caterpillar, cocoon, butterfly, and finally the background. I decided to put all three stages on the branch to represent the growth aspect but I separated them for composition. Also, I put the branch in the upper third of the page to make it more appealing.
4. I would consider doing the background over again because I think its a little boring. I would add more color and different colors to make it pop but still keep it simple enough to keep the focus on the objects.
5. This piece links with my other pieces because it represents my theme: growth. I think the cycle of a caterpillar into a butterfly is a prime example of growth.

Final: Semester One
1. I tried to master collage and photoshop. I struggles with photo shop because of the lack brightness of the photo. I struggles with collage because it took a long time to cut out all of the pieces and paste them on the sheet of paper.
2. I looked up the word artist collage on google and took inspiration from the different techniques of collage. I derived the way that each artist purposefully put each piece of paper in a specific spot. For the second piece I wanted a background that portrayed the feeling of fighting for the right to vote. Mt friend provided the picture and I made it my own.
3. I decided to make a collage to represent the multiple women who came together and fought for their right to vote. SO I made the collage and then wrote "Give us the right to vote" to portray the direction I wanted my message to go. For the second piece I turned the background picture black and white, and then gave it a blur. Then, I posted the photo of Emma on top.
4. I would do over the wording on the first piece. I knew that the words didn't stand out but I didn't have enough time, that was the main thing that people critiqued on. For the second piece, I wanted to make the brightness of the photo better and the quality better.
5. These pieces link with my other pieces because they portray the theme of growth, and with this piece specifically the social growth of how women fought for the right to vote and won.

Milestone Check (11/30/17)
Project #2
1. I tried color pencils and painting. I think I mastered painting because I have a lot of different shades of colors and values.
2. I took inspiration from Ms. O'Ryan's self portrait on the wall when it came to the shading and values on my face.
3. I did the background first and then did my self portrait on a separate piece of paper, then I glued that pice of paper on the background. I took inspiration from a time machine on tv for my background and then drew half of my face as my past self and the other half of my face as my present self.
4. I would change the mouth and the eyes. I would make the eyes and mouth look more realistic. Next time I would add more reflections to my eyes and I would take more time to work on the shading of the gum around my teeth.
5. This links to my last piece because it represents growth. My last piece was about the growth of a tree and this piece is about self growth.

Project #1
1. I tried to master watercolor and texture. I struggled with the sharpie and the pastels.
2. I used inspirations from some of my pieces last year with my texture and watercolor technique.
3. I sketched my idea of what I wanted to make in my head. Then, I picked out the size of the canvas, and the colors I would use in my piece.
4. I would cut out the tree and plants and post it on a paper with watercolor so that it would really pop and be in the front.
