A photo collage is a bunch of photos put together to make one larger photo. When creating a photo collage, Photoshop is digital and paper collage is physical. Some successes were the process of creating a photo collage, and I'd say the overall outcome. Some weaknesses were that the photos don't exactly line up. I prefer photoshop because it is easier than doing it physically.

Masumi Hayashi uses fill in the frame, color, rule of thirds, and horizontal lines in his photos. David Hockney uses rule of thirds, color, fill the frame, and break the rules in his photos. Hockney takes photos of nature and of paintings to create a photo collage, whereas Hayashi takes pictures of nature. Both use rule of thirds, fill the frame, and color in their photos. The picture to the left is Hockney and the picture on the right is Hayashi. I like Hayashi's work better because I like the colors and different textures she uses in her photos.
Elena Kalis uses rule of thirds, fill the frame, colors, leading lines, and break the rules in her photos. Zena Holloway uses rule of thirds, fill the frame, colors, and leading lines. Elena Kalis takes photos that are zoomed out and have larger background, whereas Zena Holloway takes photos that are zoomed in. Holloway focuses on movement. The picture on the left is Holloway's and the picture on the right is Kalis's. Kalis includes the ocean scenery and Holloway doesn't (at least in this picture). I like Kalis better because of her style and how she includes the pretty ocean life in the background. I picked the two photos because I love the use of sun, water, and reefs in the pictures.
1. Go to Photoshop
2. Change the foreground color and background color to light blue and dark blue. 3. Then, I changed the effect to give the page an ombre look. After, I changed the effect to gradient and the color to teal. 4. Create cloud effect and light effect to make it look like the sun is shining down on the "water". 5. Then, use the painting brush to blend in the rough edges and make the look more smooth and natural. 6. Add a picture and change the opacity to make the picture look like its underwater. 1. Go to photoshop
2. Click layer, while holding the alt button 3. Press spot healing brush 4. Click to erase blemishes I chose Annie Leibovitz because I liked the way she took pictures of celebrities to make them look like paintings. She uses rule of thirds, fill the frame and lighting to depict the beauty of the person she is taking a photograph of. I dislike some of the angles that she used in a few of her photos. Both photos show amazing lighting and angles along with contrast.
Macro photography is when a photographer takes a close up picture of something smaller to make it look large. It was successful because the photos are very detailed and have texture that is appealing to the eye. It was challenging to get the photo to focus on the object.
Photo journalism are photos that satisfy the eye. They give people entertainment and are normally found in newspapers and magazines. Photo documentary are photos that tell a stroy and portray a problem in the world. They are similar in the fact that both contain subjects that can be upsetting. I think that photo documentary photography is more valid because it is photos of actual events that have occurred.
Photo documentary photography is a set of photos that tell a story about a certain issue in the world. The purpose is to inform the public on problems that are occuring. My favorite photo documentarist is Susan Meiselas because her pictures are very colorful and beautiful, yet they portray an awful concept to get the point across. She uses fill the frame, avoid the middle, leading lines, backgrounds and colors in her photos. She took photos of war in Nicaragua.
The reindeer named Clayton is all alone. Then, he meets this nice man named Elijah. Little did Clayton know that Elijah had a gun behind his back. Suddenly, Elijah pulls out his gun adn shoots him. Clayton is dead.
Snapchat is an app that puts fun filters in the frame of a picture. It was successful because the filters gave the photos added "spice". It was challegning to get the filter on Clayton's face. |
